Amara Lucci McShain
A founding member of the SheBop Swing Orchestra, Amara (she/her) started her musical journey as a trumpet player in the fourth grade. Rumor has it that her practicing only kept the neighbors up, so she switched instruments in the sixth grade. She chose the saxophone because it has the most keys-- and more is better, right? As a young musician Amara was a member of New England Conservatory's Massachusetts Youth Wind the Patrick S. Gilmore Society Honors Community Band and the Massachusetts All-State Band.
She has performed on soprano and alto saxophone with the Sultans of Sax, The Saxyderms, and is currently a saxophonist in the Metropolitan Wind Symphony. Amara is freelance travel agent as well. In her free time, Amara loves to travel, cook, arrange music, and be with her family. Her set up is as follows: Soprano: Yanagasawa S901, Otto Link., Legere Signature Alto Saxophone: Yanagisawa AWO20, Eugene Russo, Legere Signature Tenor Saxophone: Selmer Series 3, Otto Link, Legere Signature |
