Janelle Roussel has been playing drums since the age of seven and has spent much of her life behind the kit. For the past 30 years, she has served as the resident drummer at the Newport Playhouse and has performed extensively in professional musical theatre, including summer stock at Surflight Theatre. With more than 5,000 live performances throughout her career, musical theatre remains one of her favorite places to play.

A few of Janelle’s favorite “claims to fame” include performing a private show for celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse at Rosecliff Mansion and getting the opportunity to play at Fenway Park.
When she’s not drumming, Janelle is the Founder and CEO of Rhode To Adoption, a private adoption agency licensed in Rhode Island. She is also the author of her first children’s book, The Band Family, which brings together two important parts of her life—music and adoption.
And Janelle’s bio wouldn’t be complete without mentioning her favorite roadie, her husband, David, who has spent countless hours loading and unloading her drums.
